The bright lights of Singapore

last week I took an amazing trip to Singapore and - let me tell you - it was a once in a life time experience and so different to the UK not only weather wise but also in culture. So I thought you might like to here some of my adventures and favourite places in this wonderful city.

1. Gardens by the bay

Yes, this is very well known but trust me it is absolutely gorgeous ! The domes are insane ( especially the cloud dome which is full of tropical rain forest and a giant waterfall) and I would definitely recommend paying to go in them . They are such a beautiful part of the city and a must see when exploring . My favourite part was wondering around in the evening where there was a neon animal exhibition around the super tree's . The sound and light shows are amazing on the super tree's and just stunning , I watched the light show to hits from Broadway. It is so different to anything here in England and happens every weekday evening. It's also FREEEEEEEE which is incredible!

2. Any kind of food market

Singapore is renown for having amazing food and i'd have to agree! The best thing about is that you can eat pretty much anywhere you want as the food regulation rules are so tight. I went to a food market named Newtons Circus and the atmosphere was just great, it was bustling with life and light so most of the time you will find yourself sharing a table- this is fine as the people there are so nice. The food in these places is also very cheap and you will often find yourself getting bombarded by the large choice of stalls and types of food. I would recommend the egg fried and satay at places such as this - they were absolutely delicious! But, to be honest, all the food stalls have totally yummy food and one of the Singapore stalls even won a Michelin star . As far as drinks go, the sugar cane juice with lemon is so yummy and they even grind up the sugar cane in front of your eyes meaning that it is extremely fresh.

3. Club street - China Town

This is one of the coolest streets in Singapore and its the home of my Dad's office too! This place comes alive at night, when they close up the street at 7pm the everybody is drinking at bars and eating at restaurants. Local people are out on the streets eating, drinking , dancing and just generally having a good time ; you feel as if you could soak up the atmosphere . The streets are lit up with colour and sound . Its also opposite the heart of china town so if you listen you can hear music from the mosque and Hindu temple, you can also see the top of the Buddhist temple too. That is what is so amazing about Singapore , so many cultures that live together in harmony - not many places could have a mosque , church , Hindu and Buddhist temples all on one street and it's incredible, the kind of peace you wish was all over the world . Club street is where businessmen let their hair down after a long week of work in the financial district , it's a place for fun and definitely something that is worth experiencing.

4. Ce La Vie

This bar is known as being the best in the world and wins best view of Singapore in my opinion. It is really high up and looks over Gardens by the Bay on top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel, the view look over the whole of Singapore's financial district and you feel as if you are in the clouds . You have a drink in a bustling open air bar looking over an infinity pool which ,sadly, is for guests only . The place is amazing and you can see a light and sound show over the water , that projected for the water and from the hotel. The show is both stunning from the ground and on the hotel an provides the best bar entertainment that I have ever seen. The view is unforgettable and is an image that will stay in mind for a very long time .

5.Toast box

This place is basically the Starbucks of Singapore and there are many different types of toast shops there ! I know right TOAST SHOPS !!!!!! I'm amazed we don't have these in England seeing as we Brit's love toast. The serve hot toast with a kind of honey type of spread named Kyaya - that was so yummy we had to but some and take it home with us ! They serve it with a good helping of butter that turns into a sweet and gooey sandwich. The toast shops also serve very sweet coffee with condensed milk instead of normal milk - they have very sweet tastebud's out there !

Sooo, I hope that you liked to read about some of my favourite places in Singapore but there is still so much that I haven't mentioned like the botanical gardens or the many places to shop ! I enjoyed my experience there so much and I hope that if I am lucky enough to return I can continue my adventures!
